​City of Johannesburg opens Supplementary Valuation Roll for public ​inspection​

The City of Johannesburg has announced that the Supplementary Valuation Roll for the financial year 2025/2026 financial year (1 July 2025 – 30 June 2026) will be open for public inspection from 12 November 2025 until 19 December 2025 at 15:00.

Kgamanyane Maphologela, Director for Communications and Stakeholder Management in Group Finance Department, encourages residents and property owners to inspect the Roll and, if necessary, lodge objections to any entry they believe is incorrect.

Executive Mayor Councillor Dada Morero to Brief Media on the CEO Clean-Up Campaign and the Work Done by The Bomb Squad Since Its Inception

The City of Johannesburg invites members of the media to a detailed briefing by Executive Mayor Councillor Dada Morero on the upcoming CEO Clean-Up Campaign, as well as the intensified service delivery work undertaken by the Johannesburg Bomb Squad.

The CEO Clean-Up Campaign is a three-day, citywide renewal initiative bringing together the Executive Mayor and Johannesburg’s leading CEOs for visible, on-the-ground action to restore the cleanliness, functionality, and dignity of key precincts. The campaign forms part of the City’s broader CEO–City Partnership Programme, which strengthens collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive sustainable precinct management and long-term urban renewal.

​Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo and Fourways Improvement District join forces to plant 3 000 trees in drive to green the North of Johannesburg​

Johannesburg, 5 November 2025 — In a powerful demonstration of civic partnership and environmental renewal, Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo (JCPZ), in collaboration with the Fourways Improvement District, will spearhead a large-scale greening campaign to plant 3 000 indigenous Celtis Africana trees between Fourways and Diepsloot on Tuesday, 11 November 2025.

The initiative forms part of the Presidential One Million Trees Programme, which aims to restore South Africa’s natural environment, improve air quality, and create greener, more liveable urban spaces.

​City of Johannesburg calls on residents to attend Region B Revenue Open Day​

The City of Johannesburg urges all residents and property owners in Region B to attend the Revenue Open Day on Saturday, 8 November 2025, at Marks Park Sports Club, 1 Judith Road, Emmarentia, from 08:00 to 15:00.

These important residents’ engagement forms part of the City’s intensified effort to resolve municipal account issues directly with customers and ensure that residents receive accurate bills, fair, and responsive service delivery.

Verification of Informal Trading moves from Jorissen Place to JITI​

The City of Johannesburg has officially relocated the verification process for informal traders from 66 Jorissen Place, Braamfontein, to the Johannesburg International Transport Interchange (JITI), located at 66 Harrison Street, Newtown, Johannesburg, 2000.

The verification period will run from 04 November to 18 November 2025, on weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 09:00 to 16:00.

Public Safety MMC on the Court Ruling on Street Vendors and By-Laws​

The City of Johannesburg’s MMC for Public Safety, Councillor Dr Mgcini Tshwaku, acknowledges the ruling handed down by Judge Brad Wanless regarding the City’s management of informal trading. The judgment compels the city to undertake a swift, transparent, and lawful process to audit, register, and allocate trading spaces to informal traders, in full compliance with municipal by-laws and national legislation.

The court emphasised the principles of fairness, non-discrimination, and constitutional compliance in the implementation of this process. MMC Tshwaku reaffirms the department’s unwavering support for street traders while underscoring the imperative of maintaining law and order. “De Villiers Street had become a disaster waiting to happen due to uncontrollable crowds, escalating crime rates, litter accumulation, and the presence of undocumented foreigners posing a clear security risk,” said MMC Dr Tshwaku.

Johannesburg Tourism Company Announces Tourism and Hospitality Vocational Training Programme​

Johannesburg Tourism is proud to announce the latest iteration of its Tourism and Hospitality Vocational Training Programme, a strategic initiative aimed at driving job creation and sustained economic growth in the city’s dynamic tourism sector.

A total of 300 former participants of the Tourism Ambassador Programme have been recruited through the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) to take part in a six-month Tourism and Hospitality Vocational Training Programme. The training commenced on 1 September 2025 and will run until 28 February 2026.
